Weekend With Jaysen

I met Jaysen on January 18, 2013.  He was a handsome fellow, we were both thrilled to find out that I would be spending the weekend with him.  His mom picked us up after Chinese Club at St. Michael's School.  Chinese Club was interesting.  I had no idea how to say, "hello" in Chinese, but Jaysen taught me.  It was easy..."ni hao."

Jaysen lives in a big house.  He has an awesome room and plenty of toys.  I met his 3-year-old sister, Emily.  She talked to me and told me that she brought home a monkey just a few months ago from her daycare.  She took a lot of pictures with that monkey and filled out a journal.  I spent some time with Emily while Jaysen worked on his chess and piano.

After Jaysen finished his chess homework and piano homework, his mom let us play with Jaysen's legos.  He has boxes and boxes filled with legos.  We made so many things, took them apart, and made many more other things.  Jaysen's dad came home later that night. Jaysen introduced me to him, and we played some more.

I went to bed with Jaysen that night.  He has a big bed, so we slept very well.  He has an awesome night light.

The next morning we had breakfast and got ready for chess class.  On the way to chess class in Springfield, New Jersey, Jaysen's dad stopped at a Dunkin Donuts where he got us some great treats.  I had a peanutbutter donut!  Jaysen had a chocolate donut.

We went to chess class, but the best part was at the end when everyone was matched up with each other to play a game.  Jaysen played against someone older than him, but Jaysen dominated.  Jaysen managed to capture many more of his opponent's pieces, and at the end, the teacher came and said Jaysen won the game because time was running out and we had to go.

After chess class, Jaysen and I went to the mall.  The purpose of our trip was to buy a few things.  First, we bought a lot of stickers and other things for an arts and crafts project.  Second, we went to buy a movie that we can watch that night.  Jaysen's family has movie night every Saturday.  When there is something in the theatres, they go there, but when there is nothing, they have movie night in the family room.  They have a huge screen and surround sound.  When the lights go out, it's like being at the movie theatre.  We bought something called Harry Potter to watch that night.

When we got home, they dressed me up in a costume and took a picture.  It was all of the arts and crafts project that we had that afternoon.  Jaysen dressed up in a costume too.  We created this huge poster of us having fun that afternoon.  Jaysen will bring it to class this Monday.

Movie night was incredible.  Jaysen's mom put some peanutbutter flavor on the popcorn she gave me.  Yummy!

On Sunday, we went to church and then to Amelia's birthday party at Pump It Up.  The party was great.  It was nice to see everyone that I had met throughout the school year again.

I wish I could post some pictures here.  Jaysen's mom and dad took so many pictures, but when we tried to post them, we could not upload anything.  Oh well.  This weekend was wonderful.  I hope to spend more weekends with Jaysen.
